Yidong won 1st place in ASCE Engineering Mechanics Institute Paper Competition

Yidong placed 1st in the Student Paper Competition organized by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Engineering Mechanics Institute (EMI) Poromechanics Committee at the EMI 2023 conference. The paper was entitled “A New Assumed Deformation Gradient Approach to Circumvent Volumetric Locking in Explicit Material Point Methods” and co-authored with Prof. Chenfanfu Jiang (UCLA) and Prof. Jinhyun Choo (KAIST).
